My Teaching Approach
I believe language lessons should be supportive, engaging and tailored to the person in front of me. Whether you’re preparing for an exam, returning to a language you learned years ago or starting from scratch, I’ll adapt lessons to your goals, level and pace.
My aim is to help you understand how the language works while giving you plenty of opportunities to use it in practice. Most importantly, I want you to leave lessons feeling more confident and motivated than when you arrived.

I went on to study French and Spanish at Aberystwyth University, including a year abroad in France and Spain. While abroad, I taught English in a Spanish primary school, an experience that introduced me to the joy of helping others learn and grow in confidence. After graduating, I returned to Spain to gain further teaching experience and continue developing my own language skills, which confirmed that education was the path I wanted to pursue.
Growing up in rural Wales, I became fascinated by the way foreign languages could open doors to new cultures and experiences. Learning French and Spanish at school sparked a curiosity that continued to grow, inspiring me to explore different countries, people and ways of life.
How I became a language tutor
After completing my PGCE, I began my career as a secondary school teacher, teaching French and Spanish to students of all abilities. During the pandemic, I also delivered online intervention sessions, giving me the opportunity to work with students in much smaller groups. I loved being able to tailor lessons to each learner and see the difference that personalised teaching could make to their confidence and progress
I realised that private tutoring would allow me to combine the things I enjoy most about teaching: building relationships with learners, adapting lessons to their individual needs and helping them develop confidence in their language skills. This led me to establish Tuition with Talia where I now work with both school students and adult learners.
A little more about me
Languages are a big part of my life, not just my work. When I’m not tutoring, I love discovering new cultures, exploring new places, and finding little ways to keep learning.
Seville is my favourite city - the atmosphere, food, way of life. I am yet to find anywhere that beats it!
I have lived in three European cities (Bordeaux, Córdoba & Granada).
I learned French and Spanish through the medium of Welsh at school (my second language!)
